I'm not sure if this forum supports it, but I've seen many other forums use it. What about a forum chatbox at the bottom of the forum homepage? It's pretty much self-explanatory. Those of you familiar with forumotion might see what I'm getting at. Log-in to the chatbox, start chatting(log-in is required, IMO, because some chatboxes auto-log you in, when sometimes you don't want to be in the chatbox.). That's it, you're done. Question is, can this be implemented?

Seen this done a few other forums, sounds like a good idea.

I have one here: http://fireguard.serverforumhosting.com/
It is basically an IRC for anyone logged in and updates every 5 seconds

I don't really see the point when there's IRC. Perhaps put a dedicated webchat button rather than hide it under the community tab though.

I think the forum chatbox is pointless when we have #buildandshoot on Quakenet (which you should be encouraged to join).

I like Sonar's suggestion, putting the existing irc into the forum. However again, is this possible?

There's already a webchat link in the menu bar for IRC. Putting this in an iframe on the site doesn't really serve a purpose as you'd still just have to have it open the whole time in a single tab, as you do now.

So it's useless and you should just use the irc like everyone else! Green_tongue
