It seems like the spambots have have become clever enough to turn to private messaging.

And the reason why this deserves public attention is?
Report user -> Delete message -> problem solved.

Except this is what I have done, and nothing has happened, so I bring this to public attention and possibly to the attention of admins.

Never happened to me. Also, I highly doubt that the admins don't know this is happening. Dan reads the reports all the time and yells at me when I report the posts I don't like. In the end I don't think there is much you can do.

I got one or two spam e-mails, but I just deleted them. No big deal, really.

Get on mumble every once in a while, the occasional dan vs jdrew moments are very amusing. Well, it's usually mumble vs jdrew, but it's still fun.

Spambots are harmless and only exist to annoy users. That's why it's not a big issue and is usually not the matter of the admin unless the spamming takes to the forums on a massive scale.
