Well technically it worked. Proof? Look at this thread, it's filled with people enraged at this person which in turn allowed him to milk a few more views. His video is two times more popular than his previous one. Not saying that I condone people who hack to get attention. It's like committing a crime just to be on the front page of the newspaper. "LOOK MA I MADE IT".

It's only more popular than his other videos because he didn't post any threads of them onto Build & Shoot. The hacks have little or no effect on the popularity of his video. And also:

I disagree. I doubt that this video would have that many views if it didn't have the hacks in it. I personally know of people who started sharing it on various clan/server ircs, saying "look at this guy, hes uploading a video of him hacking". Wouldn't have happened if it was any other casual video from this person.

Also, much of the posts over here are also in regards to him using hacks. So yeah, it did get him more attention and views.

He is saying it got him more views. A few weeks ago an idiot shot off firecrackers in a star-bucks place. He uploaded a video of it to you-tube and got a bunch of views from it. Because he was dumb and did something stupid people shared it and watched it then rewatched it again to see what was happening. It all got him a lot of views. Crime and stupidity sell.
