Season 2 of the hit anime Sword Art Online has been recently announced. It will follow the next arch in the manga called "Gun Gale Online". Gun Gale Online is a shooter so the new season will be a lot different from the first. Hopefully they will have better pacing, story, and good animation. I'm not really excited about the new season. The animation was good to begin with in the first season, but the plot and characters completely stopped me from enjoying the show.

after looking further into the arch I found that kirito is actual the girl with long hair which leads me to assume all characters are girls now in the arch. I also learned that the game is an American MMOFPS similar to call of duty in many aspects. It also seems that asuna will only be cheering kirito on during PvP matches. From that information alone I don't know how much I will enjoy it now.

In the second arch of the first season Kirito started "dating" his cousin/step sister. They danced around in the game too. If you remember at the finale episode of season one it was his cousin he brought to the bar and brought to the gathering in the game after more dancing.
