There is also a lot of "3" in the New Vegas game files. It, interestingly, has this small log:

The whois of the thesurvivor2299 mentions ZeniMax Media, the date is consistent with Fallout story, and it is exactly 21 years after Vault 74 has been breached, according to the log. Fallout protagonists usually are 20-ish years old or similar age when the game starts(Vault Dweller was 20, Chosen One was 20, Lone Wanderer was 19). The Morse code identifies two dates, 11.12.2013, which apparently was a Fallout sale on Steam, and 12.11.2013, which could be a Teaser release date. Bethesda has already said talking about the site "violates our privacy policies", which isn't typical for Bethesda. If this was just a hoax they would have outright denied it, not let it create a hype.

I wish theyd just hand it over to obsidian and actually give them time to play test it and shit. New Vegas is pretty much better in every way possible, hell even all the DLC's were good and were worth getting unlike 3 where the only good ones were the Pitt and Point look out.

I wasn't sure if I should put it there because it is not actually talking about a game, just about the possibility of this game being announced. I have to agree. I just think New Vegas was way too... cheerful. It didn't feel quite like a desert wasteland and more like a Wild West-ish frontier territory with a quasi-modern Vegas thrown in the middle.
Honest Hearts was pretty stale, though. Only reason I replay it is to get Light Shining in Darkness, that is the best fucking handgun in the entire game.

Anyone want to take a pot shot at what those ELLA DEUX sound logs are? For me they seem like some kind of Ghoul or Super Mutant praying just before getting executed(by the Survivor, maybe?).

Its tone is actually pretty damn close, if not the same as the original games. It was never a gritty game about survival in a post apocalyptic society, which is why 3 annoys me. Well that and the writing, retarded towns, shitastic ending, etc.

I will agree with you that honest hearts is probably the weakest dlc because it doesnt really add much. But going through it never felt like a chore unlike mothership zeta...god I actually quit playing on my one character because of that shit.

Yes, I know that, but I just like the "desolation" feel the Capital Wasteland passes better. Too bad you have shit like Little Lamplight and Canterbury Commons breaking the immersion like a fucking sledgehammer...

I actually like to collect the audio logs in Zeta, but the DLC in itself is a fucking chore. Some nice weapons tho.

The atmosphere of FO3, while enjoyable, would have you believe the bombs fell sometime in the middle of last week (they weren't.)
Fallout was always a post-post-apocalyptic game, and I think FNV rectified most of the issues I had with F3, while still appealing to the masses.
