Steam Sale

To anyone that's planning on buying any big titles in the Steam sale, I'd recommend checking out how much it costs on Amazon first. Both Far Cry 3 and Skyrim are currently in the daily deals (meaning they're at their cheapest price they will be during the sale), but are cheaper on Amazon, at least in the UK.
Far Cry 3 (Steam)
Skyrim (Steam)

Skyrim's Dawnguard DLC is currently cheaper on Steam though (during the sale).

I'm interested if this is the same in other countries (namely USA and various European countries).

Half the games in the steam sale I can't run. In amazon, do they sell digital copies of them?

No, it's on disc, but if the game's on Steam, you can just enter the CD-key into steam and it'll be like you bought it on there instead.

30 bucks for Skyrim doesn't really seem like a "sale". Skyrim wasn't a bad game but IMO it's too linear. The game practically holds your hand while it pushes you in the direction it wants you to go.

I'd like to see an Elder Scrolls game with more elements of Morrowind, a more open world and less prodding and coddling of the player, not to mention being able to automatically and instantly fast-travel to every single main quest objective.

I doubt I'll ever get Skyrim, but for some reason, it's popular. Then again, I guess CoD is popular too...

(Skyrim) SIDE QUESTS. SIDE QUESTS EVERYWHERE.

Hmm, how can we bump up the play-time without adding much content... Fallout's already taken the walking simulator idea, so let's be slightly sneakier - add lots and lots of pointless quests that have little-to-nothing to do with the story!
