Pacific Rim is a sci-fi movie with monsters and robots directed by Guillermo del Toro.
The movie shows the battle of humans agaisnt monstruous creatures called Kaiju - the term that designates colossal monsters in the Japanese movie industry. To combat the enemies, mankind creates a special weapon, the Jaegers - Giant robots that are controlled by two pilots whose minds are connected by a neural bridge. The fury of the Kaiju overwhelms mankind, who start to near defeat. The last hope of mankind are two improbable heroes, a ex-pilot(Charlie Hunnam) and an unexperienced cadet(Rinko Kikuchi), chosen to pilot a legendary Jaeger in the past but now apparently obsolete.

Looks like another gawd-awful Battleship clone that wants to be worse than Battleship. That'll be tough...but not impossible.
