I've had enough of this.

There's a huge difference between trolling and cyberbullying. Cyberbullying is deliberately hurting someone both short-term and long-term via the internet, phones, etc. Trolling may piss somebody off in the short term, but in the long term, it'll actually be one of those moments where the victim laughs at himself for his response, maybe even telling stories about it to his kids. "But we don't see anybody laughing at troll experiences" because the internet hasn't existed long enough for people to remember past experiences too long in the past.

Trolling is where both the perpetrator and the victim get a good laugh.
Cyberbullying is where the victim thinks that they have failed at life, and considers comitting suicide.

'There is no consensus on the exact date when the modern Internet came into being, but sometime in the early to mid-1980s is considered reasonable.'

Seems like a long enough time to me.

And it has only been really popular for about 15 years. Still quite some time, but not 30-ish years as you suggested.

If people these days weren't so spineless and "sensitive", this wouldn't be an issue... it never was before.

If you don't wanna be trolled, don't make yourself a target. If you don't like being bullied, handle it.

That's irrelevant. I can guarantee that within the first year of it being started people were 'trolling' each other. Besides, even 15 years is long enough to have memories of past experiences.

A cop suggesting such a thing is like an engineer suggesting a brand of toothpaste.

Everytime I get bullied, cyber or not, I keep coming back until they realise that they can't get me to suicide.

"Cyberbullying" is just a media buzzword that they use to reach out to the old people who are terrified of the people in their computer. In reality, things like that can be ended in one simple step:

Get off the computer

Seriously, online "bullying" shouldn't even be a thing. It's easy as hell to change your identity online, and even easier to just ignore what someone says. The world doesn't need to adjust to fit the biggest pansy in the room.

(not even gonna get into the definition of "trolling", that's for another time)

A perfect statement.
