I want to know what you all think about psychopaths and whether or not they are responsible for their actions.
As far as I know there are a few different theories on Moral Responsibility, one of the main ones being moral knowledge. For example if a child in school is asked "is it ok for a boy to wear a dress?", most children would answer no. However if the teacher then tells them that it is ok for a boy to wear a dress the majority will change their answer. Contrary to this if the children are asked whether or not it is ok to hit one another, the majority will answer no, regardless of what the teachers ells them. This is moral knowledge.
Psychopaths do not have this moral knowledge, they are devoid of empathy and remorse. They literally can't understand why humans become sad after things like a death in the family and such. For some people this excuses them for their actions.
So, tell me what you think.
