ive ben plaing ace of spades recentley and i have latley ben haveing lag at 1200 untell last time. last time i had 467 ping. even on my slow old computer i didnt lag and i was wodering how do i reduce lag.

Lag is based off of the server. Performance problems are based off of the client. Try going to servers in or around your location and tell me your ping then.

i played a few american servers and i lag at around 860.

How is your connection speed?

jdrew, of course that his internet speed increases his ping, if you have a very fast internet, you shouldn't get ping over 450 even if you connect to the farest part of the world. So my friend, I am sure that your internet is the problem. If you have torrent client on, turn it off.

Also, in case of Internet being down during umm you know

i checked my connection want to a few servers and my ping starts at 100 and slowley increases to 700-800

Because I am pretty sure that there won't be a second one.

Step 1 Don't download anything while trying to play. This includes torrents. Also make sure everyone else in the house isn't downloading anything, especially if you have a wireless connection.

Step 2 If you DO have a wireless connection 1 thing you can do is plug your computer in to the router. This will help.

Step 3 This shouldn't help your ping but it will help performance issues. Close any unneeded programs such as iTunes and Steam. These eat up your CPU.

Step 4 Play in local servers. This isn't always possible but play as close to home as possible. This one is rather obvious though.

Other than that there's really nothing I can think of besides maybe getting better internet. tbh you don't seem old enough to have any control over that though.
