I dont think it sucks.

People do too much minecraft lore. Besides, minecraft kinda sucks now, it was good pre-1.4 but it's been unbearable since 1.0

I will say that 1.7.3 was SUPER laggy though.

Snooper does nothing. It doesn't even do half it's own job right, it's just so mojang knows what type of computer their main fanbase has so they can optimize minecraft for it. Hunger does suck though.
