Edison made practical applications of those laws.
Thus without Tesla, Edison couldn't have done anything.
TESLA.

Also, Tesla forfeited all of his rights to alternating current to his investor to prevent the company from going under and so that alternating current could be supplied to everyone in order to better our society.Saying he invented the lightbulb gives him too much credit - he invented a new type of lightbulb.
While Edison did invent the light bulb, he refused to accept alternating current as superior (which it was) and he and his investor, J.P. Morgan, led propaganda campaigns to destroy the reputation of alternating current in order to return a profit. Ultimately, however, Edison and direct current were dropped by J.P. Morgan, who changed Edison's electric company into General Electric and used alternating current in their generators.
So Tesla wins in my mind.

Why? Because naturally generators output DC, we then have to waste a ton of DC power converting it to AC power. And guess what? At least a third of the appliances in your house will turn that AC power back into DC! What a waste of electricity, if everything was kept DC we would save a ton of power.

I'm not even going to read the rest of your post because the first part was so blatantly wrong and ill-informed.USABxBOOYO wrote:Nikola Tesla invented alternating current, which is now used as the primary method of powering almost everything. The only real advantage AC has over DC is that it can be conducted for longer distances without losing as much energy.
