They are so cute and popular that if they would extinct in wilderness, they would still survive in zoo gardens.
Not sure if they are endangered in their natural biom, since a lot of bamboo forest is being replaced with some tree plantations. That's why the orangutans in Indonesia are in danger because of palm oil plantations replacing the rain forest (I've seen that in news).
So, pandas will survive anyway I think.
