Build and Shoot

After like 2 years of not playing, I'm finally coming back to BNS. I haven't played AoS in a while mostly due to work, life, other games, etc.

I was just looking through my Steam inventory and was sadly looking at 2 copies of AoS Steam I still have. I've been meaning to trade them (game is still selling for 14.99) but I think I would feel bad about doing that to someone.

This isn't a rant about Jagex but after waiting patiently, supporting the AoS community, providing a ton of constructive feedback and even defending it...it's still disappointing to this day. I also see Jagex is taking another crack at it with BlockNLoad but with far better class based games to play and far better base building games to play, I think I'll pass. BNL looks more destructible than constructible.

You still can't beat the fort building in TDM in classic AoS IMO.

Anyway, the last time I played the OGL was still in beta I think. I checked it out tonight and it's awesome!
Also, props to Izzy for keeping BNS and the Aloha servers running along with the rest of the community that is still keeping BNS alive. If there's anything I can do to help support the BNS community, let me know.

izzy just sticks to deleting posts and saying random shit nowdays. the people you should thank are bloodfox (dead), jdrew (dead), zeb99, xcross, lecom, and reuben (ish)

Izzy is still running the servers right? It would kind of suck without the aloha.pk servers.
And when you said dead do you mean literally dead or just inactive?
I don't know anyone IRL that play AoS, besides my kids.

But like I said, thanks to all of the community who is keeping BNS going. I've seen some of the drama on the forums but I don't think BNS is going to die anytime soon and with it's open source legacy it can continue to live on as something new. If it does actually die someday and the code is completely abandoned at least it will be a dignified death.

Congratulations, you've successfully (with one exception) named some of the biggest retards in the history of BuildAndShoot. You forgot yourself, though, but we can work on that. Keep up the good work.

aloha.pk is literally the only set of US servers left.

Thanks! Good to hear that you're still committed to AoS. I am interested in making some mods and weapon paks for OS, instead of just converting my old ones.

Is there going to be any new advancements with BnS? Any new events, competitions, ideas? Any standalone versions of OS?
