Venator, that was the point of communism. So you can't rub your wealth in other people's faces.

@bigcheecho I think China is claiming it's communist so it can have a one-party system. Although, I don't know. You don't need to be communist to have a OPS

While I don't have anything against Communism or the principles of Socialism, I get the feeling that a true Communist country would get completely run over in a very short time, since a lot of countries today hate Communism with a passion, due to previous bad encounters.

Common ownership is a terrible idea. It destroys any reason to work. You no longer earn anything. You no longer own anything.

Why should I work if I don't get to directly keep what I make?

In a perfect world, communism would work. But it won't. Some people just can't be forced to live like this. Capitalism isn't perfect. But it's far better than communism.

I never want to live in a communistic country.

That has been, and is, in fact, one of the most questioned features of communism for centuries. It's one of that reasons that people like Peter Kropotkin merged Anarchism and Communism. I do admit that I'm more an anarchist than a communist. Green_tongue

Bigcheeso, why do you keep saying Communism is Stateless? It can be, but usually it's not.
Statelessness is the goal of communism, where a nation-state is non-existent within society.
While that may be true in theory, in practice there is always a government.

Could someone explain to me how innovations and new inventions would come along if people were told what jobs to do?

Being told what job to do isn't neccesarily a communist ideal.

If I am correct, Communism allows people to choose their own job. Everyone has equal opportunities for everyone. The downside of this is when certain unpleasant jobs are neglected because nobody wants to do them. I have faith, however, that there will always be a few individuals who will go the extra mile and do those jobs even if they don't like them. Green_Happy3

Communism is an illusive system, it is really just a method for a very poor country to transition into capitalism. There is proof by this when you look at the following countries, East Germany, Slovakia, Czech Republic, Russia, China, etc. It's taken by the poor, young mind to be seen as a light where there was only darkness. It's a scary thing to feel a pain when you cannot think properly, because you are so poor that you can't even eat food for your mind ( Brain Food ) Therein the reason why communism isn't a bad system, but it's created by people suffering from illnesses and empty bellies
