I'm probably gonna see it in a few days, I saw the lord of the rings movies when they came out and thought they were sort of cool, the hobbit will probably be at least enjoyable to see.

I'm a fantasy nut. Lord of The Rings is the epitome of movies, the rare rose among weeds.
The Hobbit is like LoTR x10. The story is just as good (I love both The Hobbit and LoTR stories respectively) but the Special FX are 10x better.

I've been reading the book last week(a looong time since I last touched it), and I'm pretty excited to see what will happen.
Even more cool would be if there was a Silmarillion movie. It would be really hard to make and somewhat confusing to watch, for some people, as there is an enormous stream of info coming from all directions, but maybe center in just one or two main plots and sets of characters(e.g Beren and Luthien or Turin Turambar and Niniel Nienor) could solve the problem.

I think it's pretty impossible to make a Silmarillion movie, perhaps a TV series would work better. But i'd really like to see how would they make the creation of the the world through music.
Anyhow, watched the movie last night with my girlfriend, really damn awesome .I'm going to watch it again monday with a friend, and perhaps one more time after that too. I felt like a little kid watching Fellowship of The Ring for the first time again.

Haven't seen it yet, but I hear that it's really good, and the "professional critics" trash talk is exactly that. Trash talk.
Body shots are frowned upon in this establishment.

Except I had to wait a few years after LoTR to watch it cause I was to young when it came out lol.

It would be like watching a documentary about The Bible...like THE ENTIRE BIBLE...chapter for chapter. :/
I'd rather see The Red Book made into a movie.
