Copied from Me on Stormwind
I just realised it hasn't been put on here so I'm going to put it on here.
The game is very fun if not a little confusing. What you do is build space ships with hulls, (many colours like black grey white red blue green yellow.). You put thrusters on to get speed. You put shield generators on, (I think they are very important), to protect your ship somewhat. You will need a ships theme. You can have a salvage ship where you just put salvage cannons on the ship to get money. Then there's a fighting ship. With a lot of anti matter cannons and some missiles. Then there's the all in one where you have a weapons system and a salvage system.
EDIT: Tech things:
Ok you might just click the plain old run but I recommend you "Save As" and then save it in a file you know of. Then after you download go onto that file and right click the file, it should say "Star-Made Starter" and click "Create a Shortcut". Then move the shortcut onto your desktop.
On the multi player thing type the server address starmade.aloha.pk:4242 for the aloha server. They have a maximum capacity of 32 people with a speed limit of 50 km/h
Game things:
You need several things for a good ship: Thrusters, Power generators. Those are probably the 2 most important things aside from the core.
Power generators: DO NOT make solid boxes with these. A solid 3x3x3 box with generator less or little more power then half the dimensions. Watch this video for your starting needs. It explains the way the generators work the best.
Planets are a totally different concept altogether. Just fly to a planet and with a lot of traveling you will get there. Don't go there unless you are prepared b/c the bottom is gravity free and safe but the top has gravity and is extremely hard to get out with a big-ish ship.
Space Pirates are the gangsters of this game. They are fairly weak and can easily be beaten and have good loot. If you find a stations you must wreck the turrets which are dangerous. If you get by the turrets and destroy them you can have a lot salvaging to do but pays off. On the bottums in the center are 4 Plex Storage's which hold a bunch of items.
Space Police I can't tell you much b/c they never came for me but if you wreck a shop 3 times (1st warning 2nd warning 3rd they are coming) they will come.
Greifing isn't against a rule. If you come across a ship where the owner's gone you can wreck it if you wish. Stations are free and no one can get after you for wrecking them. The missile and anti matter cannons make me sure the game is full of greifing. So don't get after someone for wrecking your station or your ship.
Catalog is probably a very important thing in the multiplayer game. B/c of the risk of people wrecking your ship I encourage you to save it in the catalog befor you go to battle or after any major renovation. All you have to do is open the menu. Just hit N, B(if your near a shop),I, or when in flight mode on a ship, T. That's your menu and on the bottom of it, it says "Catalog". Click on that and you have a little screen. Make sure your on the "Personal" tab. Now click the "Create new entry" button and a popup will come up, asking for you to give a name. Many people will create a "Door" blueprint where there's like 2000 doors and instead of going from shop to shop we will just buy a couple of those and gets all the doors. But to rebuy your ship costs money. You should always spend your first couple of days getting money. I was at 40mil at the time of writing this and I recently had 70mil from buying. Make sure you have enough credits to buy your ship back incase the worst happens.
You should always keep a couple of cores with you so if your ship is wrecked you can speed around somewhat to the nearest shop to buy your ship back. Even just 1 core by itself is faster then your astronaut flying around.
Waypoints are important. Say someone says "I'm at 5,7,1" Well there's 2 ways to get there. 1. you Can set a waypoint. Do this by going into Navigation(N) and clicking the "No Waypoint" button. A popup will ask you where to go. Type in something like "5,7,1" Then a white target arrow will go on screen. Turn around until a white diamond with a sector number is in the middle of your screen. Just follow the white arrow. 2. You can turn until you find one number so say "5" and follow that direction until you get to 5, then do same for 7, and for 1. Remember there's also places like 5,7,-92. The galaxy is endless. I know someone who was at the 1000's. I prefer doing both 1 and 2.
Credits are the currency of StarMade. Everything flows through credits, you must buy ships, buy parts to make ships. So on. My recommendation b/c the salvage cannons are few around spawn, that you buy a build block. This will provide the fastest personal salvaging unit that cant bee beaten unless you have ALOT of salvage cannons. Simply fly up to a station. Go fairly close. Even your ship with C. Get out with R. Fly up to the station. When your near place the build block on the station. Now enter the build block like a core. Hold down Left Ctrl and make the X Y Z numbers 10. Keep holding Left Ctrl and right click around the station. You can take out up to 1000 blocks a once with this method. You should always be on the look out for Plexi Glass. Selling at an average of 800 each they are useful. Doing this method you can take out lots of hulls fast so get a lot of hulls. You can sell 20k for 5mil I think it was.
Map (P) is not much. I just found out about it a little yesterday when scrolling through the controls panel ingame. A little box will come up and that's your map. I think its some sort of scope or something b/c I saw a bunch of red dots inside the square after moving it a little (W A S D). I flew toward it and found a pirate station. It's not much but I am going to make a request for a 1.5km map. Where you hit P and a AOS map comes up showing you every thing within 1500m from you.
Factories aren't very useful but sometimes can hit the goal hard. I have a friend from a different server who got a recipe for L5 mineral where 7 lava gets him 8 L5 minerals. That in a shop comparsion, is about 500 credits for over 1mil credits, in the right shop, 3.5mil. You can't have a factory on a ship. What you do is you place the input down. You must have something for power in your station. You open the factory input by looking at it and hitting R. On the screen you put the recipe (costs 5k of the item you want to make) in the top left corner. Put the ingredients beside it and it will start making until you run out of the necessary ingredients. Factory input enhancers only increase the production/5sec. So instead of get 8 L5/5sec for 7 lava you might get 16 L5/5sec for 14 lava.
The aloha server is: "starmade.aloha.pk:4242" (don't count the ") The shops near sector 2,2,2 (spawn point) are usually pretty empty of the most important things.
Theres Another awesome server "windoom.com:4242". They have a website http://www.starmade.windoom.com ! They have 64 slot, archer if you read this correct me on the details, server with spawn protection. Their is a friendly community and they are on the front page of the servers list http://www.starmade-servers.com
If you want another server go onto the website http://www.star-made.org and open the chat. Find the tab for "Servers" and open it.
