I thought of making a thread for it on the morning of the day but forgot

I actually got the message today, and it was free. Free weekend that it. I noticed that after downloading half of it. If was free for 24h on Wednesday, April 24th for 24h and after that if had a free weekend.

Is it any good?

The free version only gives you access to one class for some reason

that's for Rising Storm, which is a mod for Red Orchestra 2. you get to use any class in Red Orchestra 2 because it was free to keep, but Rising Storm was only temporarily free

it's like a demo for RS for people that only own RO2.

it's a pretty good game, I would buy it the next time it goes on sale. I think if you buy it though, buying Rising Storm gives you Red Orchestra 2 too, but buying RO2 only gives you the RS demo(basically full version, but can only use a few classes)

it is very fun though, I like how it shows how far away your kills are

So in order to actually get the multiplayer of RO2 I need to buy rising storm?

you get ro2 free, you get ro2 and rs demo
just learn to choose your servers

I was speaking about if you were to buy it now(since RO2 isnt free anymore), it'd be a better deal to buy RS and get RO2 MP. RS is also only $5 for about 24 more hours, but you can still have a lot of fun and success with the demo classes on RS

RO2 is really fun once you get good at it, which takes a while. I've only put in ~10 hours, but it's been really fun so far. There are a lot of people that have been playing thousands of hours of it and are insanely good, and there is a bit of a learning curve, but once you get past that, it is a really good game.
