Guncraft. Ace of spades, but better

I would like to call attention to a game called Guncraft. I recently found it on steam, and it runs $15. the same as Ace of Spades. The upside is that 1. The game doesn't suck. It is balanced, and you can even make your own gun. 2. The community workshop. there are loads of free guns, skins, and other stuff that players have made. 3. The killstreaks. There are about 20-25 to choose from, and these range from a mech suit, to a javelin, to a helicopter you can ride around in and blow sh#t up in. 3 killstreaks can be assigned, much like call of duty. The community for it is very small, but you can generally find a game with a couple people in it. if you want to buy something similar to Ace of Spades that doesn't suck, then this is it. it even has LAN party capabilities. I will see you on the battlefield

Guncraft has been a rival with AoS since before Jagex took over. It is pretty much call of duty with blocks as all of the vehicles and equipment cost kill streaks. One thing the game does do very good at though is the gun creation and prefab creation. You can create your own custom prefabs and then if you have enough blocks can place it. You can also literally add weapons into the game. The developers will review your submission and will add it as long as it is not over powered and is not like a penis or something as you create the model and set the stats for it all in the in game editor.
The promo videos for the game were also really funny as it mocked how bad the steam version of AoS was. If Guncraft was more focused on teamwork and building rather then kill streaks it would be a fun game. It also needs a higher population though as I think steam charts says it is lower then AoS.

Nice first post.
Killstreaks in any game are a turn off for me.

I remember someone on the 1.0 forums talk about Guncraft, and apparently the censorship that was dished out by the developers made Jagex look nice.

Guncraft's ok. But it has a very low player count. It's pretty cool that you can make weapons in-game too.

Steam version is shit. It seems to be becoming less shitty with JaGEX starting to give its playerbase some attention, but it remains bad.

If only it were as good as 0.75 is. I just want to play 0.75 all day long.

Seems anything that has a dollar sign next to it is, by some degree, less interesting that freeware. That's quite understandable, I guess.
Saw Guncraft once and and at first though it was another Minecraft Mod. The more you know.

Well a few months ago, a friend on Steam gifted me Guncraft. It seemed like an interesting game, so I went and loaded it up. My experience was mostly terrible. For starters, once you choose your name, you cannot change it again (the name isn't based on your Steam name). There's only about 5 servers, and only 1 or 2 of them actually have any players. Like Jagex AoS rips off Team Fortress 2, Guncraft rips off Battlefield 3. It is pretty obvious with its style. Some weapons are OP as well, I was on a game and there was one guy who was running around with what looked like an SMG and killing people in 1-2 hits. It's actually worse than Jagex AoS, because at least that has a decent amount of players, and it's slightly cheaper.

What do you mean by slightly cheaper? i bought a dlc sound pack, but they are both $15. I'll admit that some of the guns are OP, and that is why i mostly play on Onslaught. For someone who's mom wont let him bet BF3, this was a good option, as I got it for 3 bucks during the steam christmas sale. Honestly, i hate the game to some extent, and can't wait to get Just Cause 2. I would recomend JC2 more than guncraft anyways.

If you really want Battlefield 3, you could just get it through less legit ways
(ThePirateBay) anyway.
And also I'm not sure if the price is the same in the US but here in the UK the prices are like this:
And about Just Cause 2, have you tried the Multiplayer Mod?

I guess Jagex gets away with a slightly lower price in the UK because they are based there.
