I would appreciate it if people would keep their disparaging comments and outward negativity towards others and their ideas to themselves if they can't express it in a respectful manner -- At this point, while we do have a reasonably clear direction, nothing is set in stone and all ideas are fair game.

The SMG is basically like most of the assault rifles and SMGs from CS, there are only 5 out of 19 that can 1tap if you aim at the head while wearing a helmet, so the rifles/smgs from CS are very similar to the SMG in AoS.
The 5 weapons are, the AK,AWP,SSG08(known as scout), and the Scar-20/G3SG1
And please no blocky CS, go play CS for yourself then like I do.

well, whatever.
One thing I'd like to see happening in this game, to see the weapons doing less damage on high range. In 0.75 and 0.76 you get like a 75hp damage shot if it hits your head, like doing 40hp otherwise.

What about the Landing Craft, Vehicle, Personnel (LCVP) or Higgins boat which is a landing craft used extensively in amphibious landings in World War II. The craft was designed by Andrew Higgins based on boats made for operating in swamps and marshes. More than 20,000 were built, by Higgins Industries and licensees.[1]Kiwi wrote:well, whatever.yeah, I think damage drop-off is a great idea. I think 0.76 has it, but I am not sure

Typically constructed from plywood, this shallow-draft, barge-like boat could ferry a platoon-sized complement of 36 men to shore at 9 knots (17 km/h). Men generally entered the boat by climbing down a cargo net hung from the side of their troop transport; they exited by charging down the boat's bow ramp. This can be used for a Spawn point for the "Good Guys" they will spawn on a random LCVP which will head towards the shore. The enemy will still be able to shoot them but judging by the amount of protection these vehicles have, there will be a low chance of them killing anyone inside from inside unless they throw a grenade in, they are high and far enough to be able to aim at them.

I would like it to have the original feeling of fighting in the cold war.
Which means I would like to have the same intro music and noises.

If the update will be about balancing the damage dealt by SMG according to which body part will it hit, then it won't attract new people to play the game. There will be still the same people who will play this old style Aos.
If there shouldn't be any drastic changes made in game, I'd add at least one new weapon, or replace SMG with something instead of changing it's power. Another idea would be to add some remote controlled explosives, like a C4 explosive, which can be dropped on ground and used as explosive trap. It would work like: if the player who placed the explosive is killed, the C4 is disarmed.

wouldn't adding a remotely controlled explosive count as a drastic change since slightly modifying something counts

I think that everything that brings something new in the game will make the gameplay more entertaining. How about a grid based inventory system?

This was proposed a long time ago on one of the old forums, but I feel like it would be a nice way to allow for a huge variety of different playing styles based on how you chose your equipment. It would obviously take some balancing to keep people from taking 8 rifles or something, but you could get very specific with it, maybe even allow people to chose how much ammo they bring with them.
As for the C4 idea being discussed above, it would be pretty cool if you could place it then not detonate right away, allowing you to make multiple trips through tunnels to add more and more explosives to blow up the enemy base.

Articsledder wrote:How about a grid based inventory system?Nice concept on the grid system. I played a small flash game with the same grid system. The bigger the weapon, the more space it occupies. They game also featured limited ammo. You can carry big ammo boxes in exchange for less space for melee weapons or handguns. You can carry small ammo boxes which has smaller ammo in it but makes up more space for other equipment.
