The writer specifically linked to buildandshoot in the review, stating: "There is a decent population still playing the original Ace of Spades, that World War I-era shooter I mentioned before. You remember, the one I actually enjoyed playing."

shocking review

I haven't had any lag problems since the two updates/patches last week. Also, I think someone else made the same comment on the article but are the freaking glowing objective icons not indicative of...AN OBJECTIVE? Not to mention there's a description while loading the match. Like...do we need to see a 30 minute video before the match starts describing the fine art of killing players who don't share the same color with you, until time runs out and declaring the side with the most kills winner?

I mean, if you wanna bash the game...feel free. But I found the review thoroughly lack-luster. The reviewer not only fails to mention some of the real concerns with the current game that he could have bashed to his heart's content on but also fails to address it's strong points as well.

I mean...if you're gonna rant about it or just discuss it...whatevs. But don't call it a "review" if you're not gonna do a real review. Maybe I expect to much but when I read a review I'd like too know a little more about a game besides what the reviewer doesn't like about it and what games it reminds them of.

Hell, I feel like the 1.0 vs. 0.75 feature comparison thread I wrote does a better job of reviewing the game than most of the reviews I've read on it so far.

Also, the worst part of the Destructoid review is where he posts a screenshot of in-game chat that shows nothing but a stream of homophobic/racist slurs featuring what have to be the biggest idiots in the entire game, with one guy making a vague comment about how the old game was better sandwiched between all that.

He could have actually talked to people here, server operators perhaps, intimately involved with the game and community for feedback. Instead he showcases the moron circus and says, "See?"

There are no 'Server Operators' in 1.0. They are all Jagex controlled, remember?

I mean he could have talked to 0.75 players/server operators for perspective on the new AoS. Izzy, Stack, Kodiak, you...hell anyone here. He could have talked to someone that at least had 1% of a functioning brain. Instead, he went with that.
