I wonder what happens when you cover a torch block up completely and dig it out.

The light needs to be a bit more realistic IMO (not wrapping around blocks).

Wouldn't 1 of those drill launchers instantly destroy half of that bridge?

I've never really liked maps with vehicles in them, there's just no point to it, they don't move and they just get in the way. The torch blocks don't really add much in my opinion, but it's nice to picture a player-built bridge on a gen map with a dark fog colour and torches spread around it. That would be a much better showcase of them.

The vehicles could be for cover.

I think the London map looks pretty. The maps however don't seem to fit well with the game IMO. Like seriously, a war on the London bridge and maps of pyramids, jungles, and space stations? Seems like Jagex is not really thinking through how people are actually going to play on the maps.

Yeah, it could, if you took it apart leaving it two blocks high.

They are trying to keep it diverse and not focusing on one type of map. I personally think they should make some unfancy creative maps, like hallway, pinpoint, and all of those maps with predetermined strategies.

I don't really like the maps they've shown so far TBQH. None of them look really playable IMO. If you gave Influx's guide to map design a good read, it doesn't look like these maps will be all this fun. Sure they're fancy and look cool but there's not much cover, they're really expansive, none really encourage building (a key aspect of the game which Jagex doesn't seem to see) and like you've said none of them really encourage much strategy. I think if Jagex actually played the game they would know how to make better maps but from the looks of it they're basically turning high-school art projects into maps they expect to be fun. They haven't really thought about playability or the evolution of the map much.

It doesn't even matter considering the maps are going to get griefed within 5 minutes anyway, considering the super grief weapons and lack of community administrators to ban griefers.

This, especially any bridges or other large structures supported by relatively small parts.
