1.0 isn't very good?

Today, I saw that 1.0 was just over £3.50 on Steam, and brought and played it.
I didn't like it at all.
Personally, while I did like the rocket launchers (bring on the hate), the game just seemed to be boring. It seems a bit slow (was laggy for me), and I was getting far, far lower FPS in it than OS, at a similar quality.
Does anyone have any recommendations for fun game modes/things to do in it?
I want my money's worth!

Zombies and VIP are fun gamemodes. Your FPS drop could be lag or it could be your computer just check your ping. The models found in the map editor were worth the 12.00 USD I payed for it.

OK, thanks for the intel.
By the models, I presume that's things like Buildings, trees, etc. How can I get those? I have always had a problem getting models for map building.

Jagex corrupted the files a little bit so you need qubicle to fix the files. I am releasing them on my website as I convert them for voxlap. Here:

Looks good. I made some quite nice terrain maps, but always lacked ways to populate them.
What's the position on the ownership of the files? Does Jagex have rights to them?

Jagex made them but they have abandoned the game pretty much. Even if they did its not like they can sue you over it or anything.

They've abandoned the game?
Why would they do that?
You know, I have looked at both versions "Now Playing" 3 or 4 times, and twice there was more players on this version :)

Sally hasn't been on the forums in 4 months and they laid off their development team so yea. The game is currently 15USD but not many people play it so not many people want to buy it so not many people want to play it(its a cycle of a dead game). Sure people post on the forums and Jagex hasn't made an official announcement but without a development team the only thing they have is bad twitch streams.

I agree with VIP, but Zombies is probably the worst mode available in the game (attracts the worst kind of players, teamkilling, floating flare block exploiting, insta-votekick exploiting). Classic CTF, and Territory Control are also good modes.
Ever since Blitz Studio shut down (Blitz Studio did a lot of the development work), development has stalled, and as far as we know Jagex has left the game for dead.
Also the AoS 1.x Forums isn't very active (well except that "Count to 10000" thread on The Lounge, and except if someone decides to start trolling to cause drama).
And as for what to do in the game, you could try downloading a classicgen map from the Steam Workshop, pop it on a custom match for Classic CTF, invite some friends and experience the closest thing you will get to the pre-SMG days of AoS.

So, ironically, the community for the older version is more active :)
I suppose we have OpenSpades and the new voxel client coming up...

Eh, I kind of like 1.0 better than 0.75. I prefer its Classic CTF mode to 0.75, mostly because it only has a rifle and the rifle has 100% accuracy.

This, and some other points to add, there aren't people with aimbots and ESPs everywhere, and people play on more than 1 map as well.

Almost 1000 online right now.
But yeah, usually there aren't that many. It's just because it's Sunday and on sale. It's not too hard to get into a good Classic CTF match most of the time, though, because it is more popular than most of the other modes.

There's always at least 2 nearly-full or full Classic CTF servers in Europe.
