Host your own server and communicate with server operators.

i swear to god, every single damn time i come on the server portion of BnS i swear, i always see these diffrent people saying the same damn problem, "i cant get my stupid server to work" Blue_D'oh ! guess what idiots, your "pyspades server" is not working because it is doing about everything right, but, your not port forwarding. if you are a lazy person, i know an alternative way to set your server! Green_Happy1 Pysnip!

now, because i don't want anyone flagging this saying i copied off someone, click the link to see a thread by StackOverflow
http://www.buildandshoot.com/viewtopic.php?f=2&t=310

BUT
if you want to do it manually with Pyspades, click here to see a thread by izzy

There, did this help all you people who want to make a server, or did this make things worse?

There you go again talking about things you know nothing about. Almost everyone is using pysnip. I don't even know why someone would use pyspades anymore. The reason most people's servers aren't working is because of people not port forwarding.

seriously, dude i know what i'm talking about, im not old. im just tired of hearing the same problem over and over again. i just don't want this topic flagged as copyright. i swear to god, i checked, some people (most likely n00bs) still use pyspades because they think its the only way, trust me, when i first played, i tried to use pyspades and saw all the problems, then 1 year later after i gaven up all hope, i found pysnip. click the link for proof that i also use pysnip ([aos]aos://3600843083:32887[/aos]). but also if you didn't know, pyspades is great for quicly loading maps, while pysnip, you have to move them into a folder. i swear to god every time i try to get a map on my server, it crashes. so i stick to my 3rd favorite AoS map, classicgen for a reason, it actually generates the map so you wont see the same thing. im sorry if i spammed my server on this post, but i do need players, i should have put the link on IRC. (P.S, i forgot to read the port forward thingy you talked about)

First of all, classicgen isn't randomly generated every time it's loaded. It was a randomgen map that somebody saved and renamed because they liked the generation so much. So actually you do see the same thing every time.

Also, I did port-forward and did all the steps correctly, I had a problem not actually listed in any of the tutorials (firewall settings, advanced settings, outbound rules; I had to allow the AoS port through there) so my problem was legitimate, and I think this is a problem quite a lot of people have. They have done everything correct, except this little inbound/outbound rule thing which hasn't been mentioned in any of the tutorials I've seen before :s

Nope, you are wrong. classicgen is randomly generated everytime it is loaded. Just go ahead and take a look at the classicgen.txt
