I used to play AoS a lot before most of the servers got taken down and there were 3-4 sutralian servers I would play on. I looked at the server list on this site but there are no Australian servers and the other servers I have tried have nearly unplayable ping. Are there any Australian servers that I missed or are not shown on this site? What do other Australian AoS players do?

I may make one down the track, I'm just awaiting the Q & A answers, their taking a while to release them so it may have something to do with the shit reviews and player base hating them. We may soon have the AoS we always wanted!

I was running a server for a bit yesterday to test how well it would play with my home Internet connection. I won't be running it all the time but if we organise a good time for me, what game modes, and what maps I'll be happy to host.

I hope to god you have NBN, for maps and the like, feel free to use any of these:

If you want to run CTF, I recommend D-Day, Trenches, Realistic Bridge and Rocket Island
For Tug of War (I'm hoping you are using Pyspades), I recommend Trenches, D-Day and Capitol

Not yet but I will be getting it when it comes which should be this year in my area. Ping wasn't that bad as I tested with a few mates and they were getting around 50. However they are only about 5 KM radius away. I currently have a player limit of 8 and will probably only be playing smaller maps to support that amount of players.

Your maps are awesome by the way and I have downloaded all of them for the server. I especially like Isthmos Ædificans. Not quite sure about the setup for D-Day 0048 though.

Are you running Pyspades/Pysnip or the vanilla server?

D-Day 0048 runs fine by itself as a normal map but if you're using Pyspades you can to some nifty things like making the players spawn in the aircraft so they can jump down like the soldiers did in WW2. Otherwise if you run it normally they just spawn on the ground.

I am running Pysnip.

I didn't actually test it yet (still going through the massive amount of scripts and maps available) but I'll try to give it a go tomorrow night. Looks like an interesting mechanic since I haven't seen any other map makers do custom spawns like that.

I was thinking about it and even if I do run a temporary server it definitely won't be as good as a dedicated server.

So I went on an Internet search and found the following forum post: http://www.gtesports.com.au/community/g ... post175636

It appears AusFrag was hosting the server but there wasn't much interest so they closed it. As mentioned in the thread if we get enough interest again they will consider opening it back up.

I guess the best way to get interest is to post on the thread. So please do and hopefully it will happen.
