do I have to pay?

I have a parsnip server but other people can not join it because there is some problem. I have a good connection and I am not sure if I am required to pay to keep the server running, if so how

You need to port forward which is why they can't connect. AoS has dedicated server software so no, just run pysnip and port forward then people can join as long as it is running.

You can pay if you want to run a 24/7 server. But if you just want to host on your computer, do as jdrew said.
