I don´t really know what this is for because in germany Application means something similar to usage and I think this section isn´t made to give us the ability to give you ideas for what to use admins, is it? :D

The English word "application" translates to "Anwendung," which can mean many different things. In this case, it the same as "applikation"

I think it might be for servers that don't have a website.
