I still don't quite get it, what exactly is different between modding for OpenSpades and for normal Ace of Spades? Is there a different file format or some other shit like that?

There are several differences actually, one of which Commie was correct about. The file format is slightly different. Also, instead of just having just the flat out kv6 model for the entire gun, it comes in three separate parts: weapon with magazine, weapon without magazine, and lastly, the magazine itself. This is because Openspades uses a reload animation (though arguably if they wanted to do this they should have made a separate file for the bolt catch as well). You have to be careful with the ironsights too, because instead of using a PNG file, it just lines up the gun model infront of your face where the ironsight blocks are most likely to be. This means when you make the gun model be sure to test it in Openspades first so as to make sure you lined up the ironsights in a comfortable position. I'm not totally sure how the sounds work yet, but I am sure that they will be damn hard to mod. Why is this? Because instead of using one sound repeated on loop when you fire your weapon, it does what most games do. The first shot will always be the same sound, but if you hold the fire button down every shot (excluding the first one) will be randomized from a selection of about 4 or 5 firing sounds. At least, that's how I believe the SMG works.

Most of what Duck said isn't as complicated as it sounds, except the smg sounds though (the main reason why I'm lacking OS mods) I'm just gonna make a new skin thread instead. Anyways, good luck :)

I find it very interesting because I actually like to do that kind of stuff, like disassembling a weapon(like my HK416) or making a model without magazine and with bolt pulled back and that kind of shit(I actually did a version of the model I sent to this MC in that manner), so I kind of already have som experience with it.
